Apply now to our Community Chest fund and see the latest recipients…

June 21, 2022

Cramlington Town Council is actively seeking applications for its Community Chest fund as the latest deadline approaches.

Applications are assessed by our Community and Youth committee and the deadline for applications is 12noon June 30th 2022.

The maximum grant available is £2500 but as it is a limited fund and most successful grants average £500.

To apply for the Cramlington Community Chest Grant your organisation must be a not for profit-voluntary group, a charitable or community organisation and be Cramlington-based or have a significant presence in the town.

We are seeking applications that will benefit the local community, the local environment, the skills of group members and initiatives that promote networking and collaboration within the local and wider community.

Recent recipients of funding from our Community Chest include Cramlington Bowling Club.

They applied for money for environmental improvements and were given £500 to help reduce

future weed infestation.

Cramlington Town Council’s Community and Youth Manager Maggie Martin is seen with club chairman

John Harrison and club members at their bowling green at Ann Welfare.

Cramlington Town Council also gave a Community Chest donation of £200 to

Newcastle Hospitals Charity for the NuTH@Cramlington diagnostic and treatment centre.

The charity works alongside the Trust to make a positive impact and help deliver the best

possible experience to patients, staff, visitors and the wider hospital community.

Emma McQuitty from the charity and staff Pauline Proctor are seen with Cramlington Town Council’s Community and Youth Manager Maggie Martin.

Maggie said “Both of these recipients are excellent examples of how the Community Chest fund can be of benefit to our residents at a grassroots level. “

“I urge local groups and organisations to check out the application criteria so we can support more great community projects like the two mentioned here.”
