Cramlington Town Council’s FREE summer holiday activity programme

July 5, 2021

Cramlington Town Council has joined forces with local organisations to provide a range of FREE summer holiday activities.

Cramlington Caribbean Crew activities will include; music making, including steelpans, drums and percussion, designing and making carnival costumes and make up, singing and dancing and carnival art all in preparation for their very own Carnival performance on 23rd and 24th August at Manor Walks!

The council- funded sessions that will be held on Monday’s and Tuesdays between 10am and 1pm are for 5- to 16-year-olds.

While the places are free they must be pre-booked via steve@cramlingtontowncouncil.gov.uk

On Thursdays and Fridays, the Town Council has funded Northumberland County Council Sports Development Team’s multi-sports sessions at Horton Park and Seven Oaks Park. These sports camps will run between 1pm-3pm. The Thursday sessions are aimed at 5 to 11-year-olds and the Friday sessions are suitable for 12 to 16-year-olds. The places must be pre-booked by steve@cramlingtontowncouncil.gov.uk

Every Thursday in August the hugely successful Active Northumberland’s Ability2Play programme will be held at Concordia Leisure Centre. Their sessions are for all children who have learning or physical disabilities. There sessions will run from 10.30 to 3.30. Although funded by Cramlington Town Council, places must be booked through coach Ronnie at ronnie.scheu@northumberland.gov.uk

There will also be a range of community-led events across town during the school holidays – check out the What’s On calendar on the Cramlington Town Council website which will be updated throughout the school break.

Cramlington Town Council’s Youth Network Co-ordinator Steve Beaty said: “The Town Council’s summer holiday provision is designed to reach as many children as possible – all ages and all abilities and it’s FREE!  I’m sure it will prove to be very popular, spaces are limited and bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis so don’t delay – book your places as soon as possible”.

“We will also be promoting other local activities throughout the summer holidays.  If other activity providers get in touch we will be happy to share and promote their events too.”
