Ava Jayne is saying it with flowers….
A Cramlington girl has been spreading a bit of happiness around town by giving bunches of flowers and hand-written messages to her neighbours.
Seven-year-old Ava Jayne was shopping with her mum in Asda and saw some bunches of daffodils which gave her an idea …
After explaining what the flowers were for Asda were happy for Ava Jayne to buy a sizeable quantity of them, so she took them home, divided them into small bunches and then wrote “kindness is free, hope to make you smile” on a tag which was attached to each bunch.
Later Ava Jayne and her mum Gina-Lee went on their daily walk around Tintagel and Totnes Drive in Parkside Grange and the bunches were all safely delivered.
The response to Ava Jayne’s act of kindness has been fantastic – people have sent her their own messages such as ‘it made us smile’, ‘you are right that care and kindness are free’ and ‘it is very thoughtful of you’.
Gina-lee said proudly of her daughter “It is very touching – all she wanted to do is make people smile and she has certainly done that, as well as giving comfort to people who are alone.”
