Become a Friend of Northburn!
Do you live in Northburn?
If so, two local councillors are inviting you to join them and become Friend of Northburn!
The aim of the group is to bring Northburn residents together and to be involved in the upkeep of their neighbourhood.
Ward Councillor Wayne Daley said “Northburn is blessed with a natural waterway, green open spaces and walkways running through woodland areas which are loved by local people. We have many local residents who get involved in litter picks and help to plant flowers, so I know that bringing people together as Friends of Northburn will be a great way to continue the sense of community but also bring improvements by working with other partners to keep Northburn as a great place to live and enjoy.”
‘Friends Of’ groups are known to work well in Cramlington as fellow Ward Councillor Helen Morris explains: “Cramlington Town Council was instrumental in the formation of the Friends of Doddington Wood and the Friends of Valley Park groups. Both of these successfully brought together nearby residents working with the common goal of caring for their local surroundings, and within the groups friendships have been formed and pride in the local area increased. I’m looking forward forming the new group and meeting more of my fellow Northburn residents.”
The first Friends of Northburn meeting will take place on Wednesday March 22nd, 7pm at Northburn Sports and Community Centre, Crowhall Lane, Cramlington NE23 3YP
All welcome!
