Bringing words to life…
At the culmination of a seven-week ‘Scriptwriting For Beginners’ workshop, students saw their words come to life when their scripts were acted out in a showcase featuring professional actors.
The course was funded by Cramlington Town Council, through its Community Chest and led by Life of Reilly and their Creative Director Alison Stanley.
Cramlington Town Council Community and Youth Manager Maggie Martin said “Our Community Chest fund is there to support all a huge variety of community interests, and this is the first time we have supported a writing course and I am delighted with the response – both from the writers, from Alison and from everyone who saw the performances.”
“The scripts were so well crafted and the performances quite moving. It was a pleasure to welcome Cramlington Town Mayor Loraine De Simone and the Chair of our Community and Youth Committee, Cllr Helen Morris along to the performances.”
“Cramlington Town Council is committed to supporting local activities through our Community Chest Scheme and this was a great example of the council supporting residents in a very creative way.”
