Chance to Feed Back on Local NHS and Social Care Services

June 29, 2021

Independent champion for users of health and social care in the county, Healthwatch Northumberland, is asking for your views in its Annual Survey.

Answers from the survey will passed on to those delivering services so they know what people think is working well and what could be better, helping shape future provision.

The survey will also help Healthwatch Northumberland decide where to focus its work in the coming year, by highlighting issues that are important to people in the county.

Health services include dentists, pharmacies, opticians, community services such as school nurses, midwives and health visitors, GP services, hospital services and NHS 111.

Social care services are those helping people to live independently at home and care homes.

Healthwatch Northumberland Project Coordinator Derry Nugent says “It’s more important than ever that we hear people’s experiences and

views of NHS and social care services. The Covid-19 pandemic means we are all more appreciative than ever of these services, and how

services have had to be delivered differently. Perhaps some of these changes were for the better and should be continued going forward? Tell us what you think.

“In last year’s survey we had a lot of feedback about young people and mental health, so we have worked with Northumberland Youth Service

to design and produce information cards which are available in all schools and youth groups. We also spoke to young people in

Northumberland about their experiences of accessing and using mental health support and services, held an online forum for parents and

carers to learn more about support for young people, and developed our ‘children and young people’ information page on our website. “

The survey can be found on the Healthwatch Northumberland website HERE . If you would like to complete the survey over the phone

please call 03332 408468 or text 07413 385275 to arrange a call back or ask for a postal copy and freepost envelope. You can feed back as a

patient or carer.

Closing date is 23 July 2021.

The Healthwatch Northumberland team will be out and about this summer and will be in The Community Hub at Cramlington on 19 July, up

on the first floor from 1pm until 3.30pm.
