Community Chest grant for Muay Thai Champ Loryn Ord

Thirteen-year-old Muay Thai athlete Loryn Ord, from Cramlington, has been awarded £800 from the Cramlington Town Council Community Chest Fund to support her upcoming trip to Thailand, where she will represent Team GB at the World Muay Thai Championships in March 2026.

Loryn has trained in Muay Thai since the age of six and now competes with Jai Suu Muay Thai. She has already completed 17 competitive fights across the UK, securing both the English Title Belt and the European Champion Belt. Her intensive training schedule sees her training more than four times a week while maintaining strict dietary discipline.

In recognition of her remarkable sporting achievements, Loryn also received the Cramlington Town Council Youth Sports Award at the Love Cramlington Awards.

Loryn continues to inspire younger fighters in the region, and the community is proud to support her as she prepares for international competition next year.
