Community Chest supports Community Art Project
Members of Cramlington Community Arts Project were delighted to learn that they had been awarded £500 from Cramlington Town Council’s Community Chest.
Paper craft, patchwork, soap making, stamping – these are just some of the long list of activities undertaken by the group.
But most of the crafts require money so the group will spend the £500 on a new printer, paper, a die cutter, materials and to help provide workshops and demonstrations.
Project secretary Maureen Plant said “We are very grateful to Cramlington Town Council for the money. We have a good number of members and an abundance of talent. The arts projects we undertake are great for mental health too. During lockdown the members were sent project packs which helped to keep us connected and our positive attitude and friendship make our meetings very enjoyable.
Members of the group are pictured during one of their meetings at the Benedictine Social Club.
