Community funding workshop declared a success!
More than twenty organisations attended the Funding Workshop organised by Cramlington Town Council.
The event aims to support local groups that are looking for funding, in turn creating more opportunities for local people.
Maggie Martin, Cramlington Town Council’s Community and Youth Manager said, “There was a great buzz at the workshop and I must thank the organisations who delivered funding advice. These groups included Newcastle Building Society, Citizens Advice Thriving Communities, CVA Blyth Valley and the Sir James Knott Trust and it was great to see them linking up with potential receivers.”
Cramlington Town Mayor Loraine De Simone opened the event saying “As a council one of our roles is to facilitate improved community links and this workshop is a great example of that and I hope that many of the attendees successfully gain funding.”
“We also offer our own funding stream through our Community Chest grant which supports volunteer-led groups that improve the life of Cramlington Residents.”
Cramlington Town Council will be holding its next funding workshop in the new year. For more information email maggie@cramlingtontowncouncil.co.uk
