Community groups come together to support Cramlington’s Dementia Roadshow

Singing, theatre and lots of friendly advice – these are some of the reasons to come along to a Dementia Roadshow in Manor Walks.

Organised by Cramlington Town Council and the Post Diagnostic Older Adult Community Treatment Team the event takes place in Manor Walks Shopping Centre on Friday, June 21st from 1pm to 4pm.

The Roadshow aims to raise awareness and provide support for those affected by dementia and to do this over 20 organisations are participating including the Alzheimer’s Society, Blyth Shanty Singers, Peggi, Social Prescribers, CNTW Involvement Bank, AGE UK, Social care/support planning, Carer’s Northumberland, Walk Down Memory Lane group, CNTW Occupational Therapy, Magic Memories RVS, Social care/support planning, Legacare, Northumberland Domestic Abuse, CNTW Post Diagnostic Team, Dementia Friendly Cramlington, Northumbria Fire Service, Dementia Matters, Admiral Nursing, NCC Library  Services and CVA Blyth Valley.

There will also be two short performances of a short play called ‘Wor Grannie Joyce’ written by Sarah 0’Brien and Clairey Bass in CVA Warm Space  at 1.30pm & 2.30pm supported by Luk-Luk Productions and music from the Shanty Singers.
