Concordia staff make a splash to raise funds for charity
Members of staff from Concordia Leisure Centre in Cramlington went to great lengths to take part in a Swimathon to raise funds for Marie Curie and Cancer Research.
They were determined to take part in the challenge despite Covid-19 restrictions and each of them completed 40 lengths of the pool.
Together the team swam the 5km in a combined time of 3 hours and 27 minutes with the swimming taking place in August during personal recreational sessions as well as professional lifeguard fitness training sessions.
The team members (pictured left to right) Dave Hurst, Graeme Freebody, Ashleigh Douglas, Sophie Chapman and Jack Rumsey expressed their thanks to Active Northumberland for their support, as well as to friends, families and colleagues who gave encouragement.
