Construction Begins on New Pump Track at Alexandra Park
Great news! Construction of the new pump track officially started today at Alexandra Park. We marked the moment with a ground breaking ceremony attended by Deputy Town Mayor, Councillor Barbara Gregan and Councillor Wayne Daley.
Back in November 2025, 334 people shared their views in our pump track consultation and 93% were in favour. Thank you for the amazing support.
A pump track is a fun circuit of bumps and turns that riders move around by pumping their bike or scooter. It’s great for beginners and experienced riders alike, whether you’re on a BMX, mountain bike, or scooter. Across the UK, pump tracks have become brilliant community spaces that boost confidence, skills, and wellbeing.
The build will take around 8 weeks and cost £150,000. We’re also planning an opening event with a pro rider and expert riders joining us, keep an eye out in the next few weeks for more details.
This project is fully funded by Cramlington Town Council and it completes our Alexandra Park Activity Zone, bringing together the Adventure Playground, MUGA, Skate Park, Activity Trail, and dog park to create a fantastic destination for the whole family.
