Coronation cards create colourful Cramlington tribute to King Charles
Hundreds of portraits depicting King Charles III have been displayed in Cramlington in the run up to Saturday’s Coronation.
Cramlington Town Council initiated the project which has seen school pupils, community groups and individuals create the pictures on postcards which now decorate the mall in Manor Walks Shopping Centre.
Town Mayor Loraine De Simone said “The pictures are just wonderful! Some are very patriotic using red, white and blue as a theme, some portray items associated with royalty such as crowns and corgis but my personal favourites are the portraits of the new monarch – there is an amazing range of pictures and it’s great fun to look at them as you walk along the mall.”
There is still time to add your own Coronation card to the display – if you would like some of the Council cards to fill in, please contact Cramlington Town Council on 01670 707831
