Councillor gives donation to skate park improvements
Three thousand pounds have been raised to go towards the development of the skate park in Alexandra Park and now a Town Councillor has donated her expenses towards the cause.
Cllr Christine Dunbar handed over £260 as she heard about the plans involving local youngsters, youth workers and artists.
Sue Barnard from Northumberland Youth Service and Andy Morley from Creative Ginger are working with users of the skate park from the ages of 8 to 19, to develop designs that will be used by a graffiti artist and to create some new jumps.
A workshop is planned in August and the proposed designs will be shared to get feedback from the whole community.
Cllr Dunbar is seen with skate park users Nathan Howie and Declan Stokes and on the front picture with Sue Barnard and Andy Morley too.
