Cramlington Conservation Day, looking after our green spaces
Caring for some of our town’s beautiful green spaces was on the agenda today to mark Cramlington Conservation Day.
Staff from Potts Prints organised and provided equipment for a litter pick at Lanercost Nature Area, (pictured below)where they were pleased to report a significant reduction in the amount of litter collected, since litter picks are now held there on a regular basis.
Light refreshments were available at the Community Allotment where volunteers were on hand to help.
In the afternoon the litter pickers moved to Horton Burn where they were joined by Cramlington Town Mayor Councillor Helen Morris, members of the Women’s Institute and local volunteers keen to do their bit for the environment too! Environmental Records Information Centre North East (ERIC) were at Lanercost to show how to log data on their app which records local plants and wildlife.
