Cramlington is flying the flag!
As part of the preparations for this year’s Remembrance ceremony, Cramlington Town Council has erected a flagpole in the village square. The 2018 commemorations mark 100 years since the cessation of hostilities in the First World War and it is hoped that the flagpole will become a centrepiece for future remembrance services as well.
Council chairman John Collins and councillor Loraine de Simone are seen with the Union Flag flying and this will alternate with the Northumberland and Cramlington flags. The Union flag will be lowered in accordance with remembrance protocol and at times of national mourning.
