Cramlington Town Council Budget Proposals
Cramlington Town Council has proposed to limit its budget increase for next year to the rate of inflation.
For most households this will mean an additional charge of less than £3 a year.
Through making savings and by attracting grants the Council plans to undertake a range of projects during 2022/23. The main schemes are:
- Provision of a “dog activity” park
- Environmental works to Cramlington Station
- Additional outdoor gym provision
- Provision of public art across the town
- Additional “gateway signage” at entrances to the town.
The Council has also provisionally agreed further projects for future years which will include the provision of activity playgrounds, improving youth clubs and facilities for young people, more CCTV coverage and better maintenance of essential facilities.
This decision reflects the Town Council’s concern over the financial impact of the Covid-19 crisis on many families. But whilst we will not be asking for an above inflation increase in our precept, we are confident that we can make savings in several areas which will provide scope for new projects and allow us to maintain our most essential services.
A report giving more details about these proposals is available on the Council’s website HERE
