Cramlington Town Council Community Feedback
Cramlington Town Council’s Community and Youth Team (C&Y Team) have carried out a consultation with organisations across the town.
Maggie Martin, the council’s Community and Youth Manager and Steve Beaty the council’s Youth Network Co-ordinator wanted to research how they could develop the links between the various organisations while also determining areas where the exchange of skills and resources would be beneficial.
Twenty-two organisations that the C&Y Team are already connected with took part in the consultation. The groups have already participated in projects such as Eastfield Community Hub, Cramlington Community Allotment, Cramlington Wildspaces Hub and the Virtual Christmas event.
The responses acknowledged the work already carried out by the C&Y Team – quotes included: ‘great support in difficult times’, ‘a really positive experience’ and ‘it’s been a great experience working with the Town Council team.’
The C&Y Team’s networking also drew praise with the majority of responses acknowledging that this has helped their own individual organisations by enabling them to work more closely with other partners and develop their networking across the town.
Community and Youth Manager Maggie Martin said “The responses from this initial consultation indicate that our work is having a positive influence on the groups. They signal that we are moving in the right direction and have enthused us to take our work forward. The feedback is really beneficial to us – so much so that we intend to make this an ongoing consultation with community groups and we will check in with them on a regular basis. Together we are striving for ways to make Cramlington a safer, happier and healthier place for all.”
