Cramlington’s saying it with flowers…
Cramlington Town Council Operations Team are filling the town with flowers this week as they take delivery of 17 flower towers and fill our flower beds and planters.
Mindful of best value for money the plants have been sourced from Durham County Council who have extensive nurseries and grow most of their plants from seed.
Quality is the other essential factor and our Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Jamie York is delighted with the standard of the plants delivered.
Jamie said “This year I have selected species this year that are drought tolerant, and the soil also contains water retaining granules which absorb water and form a gel which then releases the moisture as the soil dries out.”
“This really helps the team with the maintenance and watering schedule which, when you consider the size of Cramlington, is a considerable task.”
