D-Day anniversary remembered in Cramlington
A 11am this morning a ceremony was held at Cramlington War Memorial to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
At the event, which was organised by Cramlington Royal British Legion, branch committee member Kirsty Kelly gave a short address and John Bell laid a wreath.
Representatives of Cramlington Town Council and members of the public attended the ceremony to pay their respects.
Town Council vice chairman Loraine De Simone said “It is always a privilege to honour the heroes who sacrificed themselves to protect our freedom.”
