Excellence Awards Winners Announced
The outstanding contribution County Council staff make to the lives of people across Northumberland has been recognised at this year’s Excellence Awards.
The prestigious awards ceremony was held in the beautiful Pavillion at the Alnwick Garden where guests included finalists, Council leaders and event sponsors – Compass Development NE Ltd, Northumbrian Water, NHS Fleet Solutions, Oracle and BT.
Peter Jackson, Leader of Northumberland County Council, said “Our judges had an incredibly tough task this year, choosing the winners from so many high-calibre nominations.
“The people we celebrated at the Awards are the ones who make a real difference to our communities – it fills me with a tremendous sense of pride to call them my colleagues.
“The seamless delivery of Great Northumberland this summer was a great example of our staff pulling together to make our county a better place.
“These awards gave us the opportunity to express our gratitude and celebrate the outstanding efforts of our staff.”
The award winners are:
Barndale Short Break Staff Team – Outstanding Team of the Year Award
Michelle Williams – Outstanding Employee of the Year Award
NFRS Wildfire Team – Outstanding Partnership Working Award
Armed Forces Support – Respect and Compassion Award
Shannon Johnson – Outstanding Apprentice of the Year Award
Jordan Liddell – Personal Development Award
Green Dog Walkers Scheme – Community Project of the Year Award
The Wizard Project – Innovation Award
Communications Team – Customer Service of the Year Award
Caroline Tulett- Excellence in Leadership Award
Elizabeth Spratt – Lifetime Achievement Award
Two surprise awards were also presented on the night – the Leader’s Choice Award went to the Fleet Workshop Team, and the Chief Executive’s Choice Award went to Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service’s Ben Chruszczewski, Paul Cameron and Tom Oliver.
