Field of poppies is a labour of love

Cramlington Craft Club members have worked for eight months creating hundreds of poppies to create their own Field Of Poppies.

Members have knitted, crocheted and felted the symbols of remembrance which have then been attached to a net background to create a mass of red flowers – and some purple flowers too to acknowledge the service given by animals during conflict.

The blanket will be on display at the group’s Christmas Fair at Cramlington Community Centre on October 27th  between 10am and 3pm where there will also be a range of craft work and stalls.
