Food Festival postponed
Owing to circumstances beyond our control the Jubilee Food Festival, scheduled for Saturday June 5th and Sunday June 6th has been postponed until later in the summer.
The event organisers, Does Culture, have reported that the anticipated number of stall holders, wishing to attend the event over Jubilee weekend, has fallen below expected numbers. The organisers are confident that postponing the event until late summer will ensure much higher attendance by traders and ensure that the event meets expectations.
Cramlington Town Clerk, Bob Baker, said “We want to provide the best possible Food Festival and therefore we have decided to reschedule it to a date in the summer when Jubilee commitments will not be so pressing for stall holders and the public.
Cramlington will still be celebrating Her Majesty’s Jubilee with several community focused events.
There’s a fantastic exhibition being staged in the Community Hub organised by the u3a, local historians and the Town Council, a series of events in St Nicholas’ Church, a guided walk and, of course, our Cramlington Jubilee Line, where thousands of our residents have created postcards with a picture of The Queen and these will be on display in Manor Walks and the Community Hub.”
Cramlington Town Council has also issued Platinum Party Bags to organisers of street parties across the town. Cramlington will still celebrate the Jubilee in style!”
The date for the rescheduled Food Festival will be announced in due course.
