Cramlington Town Council hosted a grant-awareness showcase which created an opportunity for community groups and organisations to find out about funding sources and advice from bodies such as the Newcastle Building Society, Northumberland Communities Together, Citizen’s Advice and CVA Blyth Valley.
Maggie Martin, Cramlington Town Council’s Community and Youth Manager said, “There is support, advice and funding out there and this networking event linked up potential givers and receivers.”
“For example, Cramlington Town Council has a Community Chest grant which will support volunteer-led groups and organisations that improve the lives of Cramlington residents.”
“This networking event has demonstrated what is available, once you know where to look and improving community links is part my role with the Town Council – we are here to help.”
“We have had a great response to this first funding showcase – we will definitely be holding more!”
