The work of Cramlington’s local heroes was acknowledged today when Cramlington Town Council hosted a Community Champions awards ceremony.
The event was sponsored by Cramlington Independent Funeral Directors H Duckworth.
Speaking at the event in Concordia Leisure Centre, Town Mayor Loraine De Simone praised all those who had been nominated and acknowledged the dedication of those individuals and organisations whose work is often carried out behind the scenes. Loraine said “I am delighted to be here representing the Town Council at this ceremony which recognises the commitment that you all make for the benefit of Cramlington residents, you are all so deserving of our gratitude.”
” I would also like to thank our sponsors, H Duckworth, for supporting this event.”
For the Community Organisation of the Year Award nominees were Eastlea Primary School, 5th Cramlington Brownies, The Community School Clothing Scheme, Cramlington and District Red Squirrel Group and Healthwise.
