Grant Funding Serves Up Improvements at Tennis Courts
Cramlington Town Council’s Community and Youth Committee has awarded a grant of £900 to Cramlington Community Tennis Programme (CCTP) to put towards improvements and maintenance of the tennis courts at Alexandra Park.
The courts are a well used and important facility for CCTP, offering tennis for people of all ages in Cramlington. The grant funding will go towards a professional deep clean of the courts, immediately improving both the look and feel of the facility and player safety, along with investment in new nets and wind breaks to support tennis activity.
CCTP shared before and after images showing the results of the deep clean.
The improvements will enhance the look and feel of the club, helping make it a more attractive place for families to learn and play tennis. The programme also supports positive health benefits, including helping address childhood obesity, and organisers hope the upgrades will encourage more local residents to take up the sport.
The news comes as Wimbledon fortnight gets underway, with tennis very much in the spotlight for the next two weeks. If you’re interested in learning more about using the courts or learning tennis, visit cramtennis.co.uk for more information.
