Hospital and council join forces in clean and green campaign
Cramlington Town Council teamed up with staff at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care hospital to launch a campaign to keep the hospital site litter free.
The trust’s newly formed Green Champions and their colleagues were joined by Councillor Scott Lee for a litter pick using tools supplied by the council.
Damon Kent, Director, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust said “We take great pride in the grounds of the hospital and staff were very willing to do their bit to keep the area litter free. Our thanks go to Cramlington Town Council for supplying the equipment. I know it is a service they offer to any community group and we were happy to work with them and Councillor Lee.”
After the event Councillor Lee said “It was a pleasure to meet the hospital staff and see how they wanted to ensure that our part of Cramlington remains clean and green. I look forward to the council and hospital continuing with this partnership approach and would like to thank all of the volunteers who gave up their time to help.”
