Introducing Cramlington Town Council’s new Operations Team
Cramlington Town Council has expanded their Operations Team to improve the environmental services and maintenance across the town.
As well as increased staffing levels, an additional £30,000 has been invested by the council in equipment and transport. This follows the termination of Cramlington Town Council’s grounds maintenance partnership with Northumberland County Council.
The new team (pictured) is based at a depot in Nelson Park Industrial Estate.
The operations and facility manager is Daryl Wood and Jamie York is the grounds maintenance supervisor. The grounds and general maintenance operatives are John Ellis, James Gilbert, Martin Fisher and Joel Clough.
Our new team maintain the town’s summer railing planters, floral towers and over 50 summer bedding sites. They also look after 65 sustainable planting areas which are filled with herbaceous and perennial plants and over 2,500m2 square metres of wildflower areas.
They maintain 38 amenity grass cutting sites, including playgrounds which total an area covering over 12,000m2 and their responsibilities also include the maintenance of thirteen playground sites, three Multi Use Games Areas, the skate park and the sensory garden.
The team also looks after specific areas in the town such as the village square and the Sensory Garden in Alexandra park as well as 86 bus shelters and all the town’s litter bins.
