Let’s fill Cramlington with giant poppies…
September 19, 2019
The Cramlington Branch of the Royal British Legion is once again asking businesses and residents of Cramlington to sponsor a lamp post poppy.
The major routes into Cramlington will be lined with giant poppies as the town prepares to pay it’s respects to the fallen on Remembrance Sunday and November 11th.
Lamp posts from Dudley Lane, Station Road and Cumbrian Road leading to the town centre will be the main focus of the display but there will also be opportunities for the poppies to be placed in other areas of the town.
Cramlington Royal British Legion Branch chairman, Joe Wallace said, “It was fantastic to see the main routes coming into Cramlington lined with poppies last year and it was all the more special being the 100th year marking the Armistice.
If you would like to sponsor a poppy you can call in to the Cramlington Town Council office, Surveyors House, Blagdon Terrace, NE23 1DN between the hours of 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.
The Cramlington Branch of The Royal British Legion are also hosting sponsor days on September 27th and 28th in Manor Walks Shopping Centre.
All donations will be passed on to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal via the Cramlington branch of the RBL.
The Cramlington Branch of the Royal British Legion is always looking for volunteers so if you would like to help please email John Bell via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
