#LoveCramlington Awards – judgement day!

November 18, 2021

Cramlington Town Council is hosting it’s third annual #Love Cramlington Awards and we are delighted to report that the final judging panel has met and made their decisions.

The awards give recognition to the great work carried out across the town by committed community groups and inspiring individuals.

There are twelve awards in total covering areas such as sport, youth, business, the environment, culture and creativity.

The judging panel comprised of representatives of a selection of the award sponsors. Pictured left to right are Sergeant Dave Turner from Northumbria Police who said “This has been trickier than I thought! There are so many deserving people on the shortlist, well done to them all.”

Dräger’s Head of Community Initiatives Nick Furno, who joined the judging panel virtually,  said “It was great to part of the judging panel and being able to find out about the inspiring community work being done locally and by those of all age groups”

These sentiments were echoed by the third judge Tracy Machnicki, Social Value Manager for Britishvolt who added “I left the judging panel feeling quite inspired. I look forward to attending the awards and having the chance to meet the shortlisted candidates in person.”

The full list of sponsors for the awards is: Dräger, British Volt, Northumbria Police, Mental Health Concern, Asda, Dogs First, Councillor Paul Ezhilchelvan, Newcastle Building Society and Active Northumberland.

Cramlington Town Council’s Community and Youth Manager Maggie Martin said “We had a great response from residents when we launched the awards and some terrific nominations. I can’t wait to see the reactions of all those who were shortlisted. The trophies will be presented in January – what a great way to welcome 2022!”
