New group offers support for those dealing with bereavement
A new community group has started in Cramlington, offering the hand of friendship to those who are dealing with grief and bereavement.
Based at the Hope Centre, Friendship In Grief (FIG) meet on Tuesdays at 1.30pm and Fridays at 10.30am.
FIG volunteers are there to understand, listen and care.
Volunteer Grace Hutchins said: “I encourage anyone to come to this informal and friendly group. Grief takes many different forms – shock, denial, yearning, anger… there is no right or wrong way to deal with it. We share people’s tears but we also enjoy a laugh and a chat.”
Karin Graydon echoed Grace’s comments saying “We have all had experience of bereavement and we really do understand what you are going through.”
