New MUGA for Seven Oaks
Following the £100,000 investment in the children’s play park at Seven Oaks last year, Cramlington Town Councillors have listened to concerns about provision for older children in the area.
In response the Council successfully applied for grant aid to provide a £50,000 Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) in Seven Oaks park near the existing play park.
The MUGA will primarily cater for young teenagers and provide a facility for them to play a variety of ball games and to simply “hang out” with friends.
This is a free facility for youngsters to enjoy while also providing the health benefits of exercise.
Northumbria Police and youth workers have been involved with the development of the proposals to install a MUGA. and it support the Town Council’s objective to provide facilities to make Cramlington “a child friendly town”.
It is hoped that the project will be completed by the late autumn.
