New play area created in Westfield Park

Work has started on the development of a new play area within Westfield Park.

Groundworks for the scheme were aided by a donation of £8000 by county councillor Barry Flux (pictured), using his small members scheme.

External grants provided £15,000 and £25,000  has been provided through Cramlington Town Council.

Features within the play area will include seating, swings, a seesaw and a multispinner.

Barry said “This is an excellent investment for the Beaconhill area and it has been great to receive a positive response to the development from the local community.”
