New weekly dementia support group for local residents

A weekly dementia support group has been established in Cramlington following a pledge from Cramlington Town Council to fund the Age UK group’s first year.

The Living Well with Dementia Age Concern Group will meet weekly and provide a welcoming and understanding environment for those navigating the challenges of mild to moderate dementia.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in supportive activities, meet others facing similar experiences, and access key resources.

Cramlington Town Mayor Councillor Helen Morris explained “The Council is keen to support initiatives that benefit a cross section of our residents and by financing this new group we can offer help to local people with dementia, their families and carers who are facing challenging times.”

The Living Well with Dementia Age UK Group meets at Cramlington Town Council office, 27/28 Bamburgh House, Manor Walks, NE23 6UT (above Newcastle Building Society) every Monday afternoon between 2-4pm. Email: david.bonham@ageuk-northumberland.org.uk.
