Northumberland Archives reopening
Northumberland Archives service will be reopening to the public from September 17.
Study centres at Berwick and Woodhorn will be open for pre-booked appointments only. Bookings can be done online at www.northumberlandarchives.
Anyone wanting to access archives must have a booking and the centres will be open Wednesday and Thursday. There will be two research sessions: 10am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-4pm at Woodhorn
10 am-12:30pm and 2pm-4.30 pm at Berwick
Researchers can book one session per week. It is limited to one person per booking.
A number of measures have been introduced to ensure the safety of staff and researchers including, wearing face coverings; sanitising your hands before entering the centre and keeping two metres apart from other users. Visitors will also notice protective screens at the reception desk.
Before your appointment staff will contact you to discuss your research requirements. Any payments need to be made by card and researchers are also asked to bring their own stationery, such as a pencil and paper.
