Northumberland tops its offers table
Virtually all Northumberland parents have gained their top preference of first or primary school on National Offers Day.
First preference of place went to 98% of parents who applied on time, and 99.9% of parents have been offered one of their top three preferences.
Figures for Northumberland have improved year on year, with fewer children receiving second preferences this year than in 2018 or 2017.
The admissions portal opened at midnight last night and parents who applied online received an email with a link to the portal. Others will have received a written offer.
Dean Jackson, director of education and skills at the council said: “This is great news for the vast majority of Northumberland parents.
“The council is working hard to ensure that there are enough school places for children in their catchment schools, and this outcome on National Offers Day for primary schools is testament to this work.”
Northumberland’s school admissions team will assume that parents’ wish to accept their school place unless they advise otherwise. Should you wish to refuse a place please contact the team, giving your child’s name DOB and reason for refusal, before 1st May 2019.
Parents who wish to query their offers, or ask other questions, should email schooladmissions@
