Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have vacancies for public governors
There’s just over one week left for people across Northumberland and North Tyneside to stand for election as a public governor. If you are passionate about your local NHS and want to become more involved this is your opportunity.
The Trust has 23 vacancies for public governors. There are three vacancies in Berwick, three in Blyth Valley, five in Hexham, two in North Shields, three in North West Tyneside, three in Wallsend, three in Wansbeck and one in Whitley Bay.
Public governors play a key role in shaping the future of services in Northumberland and North Tyneside and represent the views of local people. The role of a public governor is to represent the views of local people and help build links between the trust and the many communities it serves. Duties include holding non-executive directors to account for the performance of the board, reviewing the annual accounts/ report and representing the interests of the public in governance meetings.
Nomination forms are now available and must be returned no later than 5pm on Friday 12 May 2023. To be in the running to be a public governor, people must be a member of Northumbria Healthcare. This is done by completing an online application form at https://www.northumbria.nhs.uk/get-involved/join-our-foundation-trust/become-member#82e153d1or calling 0191 203 1296. Anyone can join us as a member of our Trust to help shape local services and they will receive regular e-bulletins from the Trust.
