PLAYTASTIC!
There was fun and celebrations in town today when the Seven Oaks play opened after a £100,000 refurbishment.
Local councillors Mark Swinburn and Loraine De Simone arranged for responsibility of the play area to transfer to Cramlington Town Council so it could be maintained in line with other parks in the town.
Funding was then sourced and the council consulted play area experts Kompan to come up with a refurbished area that was inclusive for children of all ages ages and ability.
Cllr Swinburn said ‘I want to ask people for their help as we need this to make sure this area stays in the condition that it should be, so please get in touch with the council if you find things aren’t right. Also, this is just the start, we want Seven Oaks to be a community area, and we want people to tell us what they would like to see here, so please get in touch with us and the council to let us know what more you would like to see here’.
Chairman of the Town Council, John Collins, was invited to declare the park open and as can been seen here children then wasted no time in testing out all the new play equipment – and it was smiles all round!
