Prizes on offer as countdown to Concordia pool reopening begins

The countdown is now on for the reopening of the swimming pool at Concordia Leisure Centre which will be back in action on Monday 29 July, just in time for the school summer holidays.

Concordia pool has been closed for a number of weeks while work has taken place to upgrade and refurbish it. The old pool lining has been fully replaced as well as the swimming pool floor areas in the wet changing rooms and around the children’s poolside water features. The changing cubicles have also been upgraded.

 

A major piece of work has also taken place to replace the pool plant, filters and pumps which clean and heat the water, with more energy efficient and environmentally friendly equipment.

The work forms part of a wider £1million swimming pool investment programme funded by Northumberland County Council.
