Cramlington Town Mayor Loraine De Simone recently called on local schools to back the Denim For Dementia campaign which raises funds for the Alzheimers Society.

She was delighted to discover that pupils from Hareside Primary School wanted to mark the occasion by creating a chain of office for her – made out of denim!

The children presented Loraine with her new regalia when she visited them to explain about the charity which, in her role as town Mayor, she is raising funds for.

Loraine commented “I am so proud of my new chain of office, I shall wear it with pride.  It was a pleasure to meet the pupils at Hareside and every time I look at the denim chain I will remember their kindness.”
