Showcasing the groups that care for Cramlington’s environment…

Cramlington Town Council is once again hosting a Conservation Day Showcase to shine a spotlight on the good deeds and groups that care for the environment in and around the town.

Town Mayor Councillor Helen Morris explains: “We are lucky to have many wonderful green spaces in Cramlington, and they are obvious to see as you drive around the town – what isn’t quite as obvious is the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure Cramlington remains such a pleasant place.”

“Residents have adopted certain areas of the town with ‘Friend’s of’ groups, allotment associations coordinate with plot holders, people give up hours of time to care for squirrels, hedgehogs and bees, litter picks are held year-round – there is such a lot going on.”

“We hope the Conservation Day Community Showcase will bring together groups so they can tell the public what they are doing, and the public will in turn have the opportunity to find out more information and maybe become a volunteer themselves.”

“I do hope you will be able to pop along to the showcase on Saturday 27^th July, in Manor Walks Shopping Centre, between 10am and 3pm and checkout the information stands.”
