Sing in Cramlington to show your support for dementia initiative
Manor Walks Shopping and Leisure Centre is inviting you to join in their singing event, supporting BBC Music Day, in their aim to raise awareness of dementia.
In the Centre Mall on 26th September shoppers, staff and local community groups are being asked to sing “Hey Jude” by the Beatles to spread the awareness of dementia one chorus at a time.
The event in Cramlington is one of hundreds that will take place across the UK supporting BBC Music Day in a celebration of the power of music to change lives.
More than 70 organisations are involved so far in this unprecedented collaboration including Alzheimer’s Society, Age UK, Alzheimer Scotland, Dementia UK and NHS England.
They’ll be working together the week of BBC Music Day to create events and take part in broadcasts celebrating the importance of music in improving the wellbeing of people living with dementia.
Cramlington Parish, Home Instead and Cramlington House have already agreed to support the event in Manor Walks which starts at 11am and you are asked to arrive up to 10 minutes prior to the event starting so you can grab a song sheet.
