Skateboard skills sessions prove to be a hit…
Fun-filled skateboard sessions proved to be a massive hit with Cramlington youngsters during free tuition sessions provided by Cramlington Town Council as part of their summer holiday activity scheme.
Cramlington Town Mayor, Councillor Helen Morris, who is also Chair of the Council’s Community and Youth Committee said: ”Many thanks to Team Rubicon for providing the sessions in Alexandra Park. Looking at the expressions on the kids faces it is plain to see how much they enjoyed learning the fundamentals and upgrading their skills. I’m proud that Cramlington Town Council provided a range of activities over the summer holidays for youngsters aged between five to eighteen and also to families with disabled youngsters. We were determined to cover the cost of the provision so all of the activities were free for our local families.”
Joe Eltringham, the Council’s Youth Co-ordinator added: “It’s been great fun watching these sessions in Cramlington. There were a lot of keen youngsters willing to give it a go, but it was great to see some of the parents don knee and elbow pads, put on a helmet and take the plunge. I admit that I had a go too – all I can say is I’ll not be changing careers just yet!”
