Spring is in the air…..and in the night sky…..

As the seasons change so does our view of the constellations in the night sky and accordingly the information on Cramlington’s Star Spot boards has been updated.

There are two stargazing information boards in the town – one at Horton Park and one at Westfield Park –  and these help the viewer navigate their way around the night sky above Cramlington.

The information is updated with each season as throughout the year the constellations shift gradually to the west. This is caused by Earth’s orbit around our Sun.

A third star spot board will be installed in Alexandra Park once the Sensory Garden has been completed.
