Town Mayor announces charity fundraising events
The Town Mayor of Cramlington, Loraine de Simone, has announced which charities she will raise funds for during her term of office.
Loraine said: “The two charities for which I wish to raise money are The Alzheimer’s Society and The Stroke Association. In this connection, I am planning my first function which will be held in St Nicholas’ Church on Wednesday 30th October at 7pm.”
“Around one in six men and one in five women will have a stroke during their lifetime. A quarter of strokes happen in people under 25 years of age so it really can affect everyone. On Wednesday 30th October between 7 and 9pm we are offering a FREE session for people to know their blood pressure.”
“A brief talk will be given and people are welcome to call in between 7 and 9pm for their blood pressure to be taken. Light refreshments will be served.”
“Alongside of this will run a ‘give a hand and bake’ in the Parish Centre where you will be able to buy homemade produce such as cakes, scones, jams, chutneys, books, art and crafts etc. Tables will be available for people to display their goods at a cost of £10 donation. Please see me if you would like a table.”
“I am looking for your help for these two very worthwhile causes where you can come and purchase goods, know your blood pressure and have a coffee and a chat with friends. I am also looking for raffle prizes.”
“So SAVE THE DATE – Wednesday 30 th October between 7 and 9pm in St Nicholas’ church.”
