VIDEO: Healthwise mark anniversary with tree planting ceremony
Heathwise, the Cramlington ladies group whose aim is to promote health and well-being, have celebrated their 2oth anniversary with a tree-planting ceremony at Northumberlandia.
Chairwoman Janet West said “This year is our 20th Birthday and to celebrate 20 years of fun and friendship we decided to plant an oak tree at Northumberlandia as a lasting legacy of our group.
Our wish is that our children, grand and great grandchildren along with members of the community will see the tree in the future and smile at our endeavours.
The oak tree is a perfect symbol for our group. Like the saying ‘From little acorns do mighty Oaks grow’ our originally small group now has 64 members and we are now looking forward to the next 20 years!
The native British oak tree was purchased at Azure in Cramlington.
The group meet weekly on a Thursday morning and enjoy speakers who present a variety of subjects, enjoy self generated quizzes and entertainment. They also signpost members to organisations re Health, well being and other social issues, but mainly they meet and enjoy coffee and chat in a warm welcoming, friendly and supportive group.
