VIDEO: High School art celebrates causes close to the King’s heart
The causes supported by King Charles III have been celebrated in a series of banners created by sixth form students at Cramlington’s High School.
Now hanging in Manor Walks Shopping Centre, the banners reflect the legacy of the then Prince of Wales, inspired by his passions such as the Prince’s Trust, organic gardening, the Duchy organic food range, reducing his personal carbon footprint, wildlife conservation, the Campaign for Wool and preserving heritage crafts.
Cramlington Town Council asked the school to create artwork associated with the new King and councillors were delighted to see the work created by the Cramlington Learning Village A Level Art and Photography Students.
Councillor Wayne Daley commented “It’s phenomenal, I’m blown away by the way the pupils have depicted the legacy of King Charles when he was Prince of Wales.”
Councillor Christine Dunbar added “It’s hard to choose a favourite but personally I’m drawn to the banner depicting the work of the Prince’s Trust. I urge people to come along and look at the wonderful work created by the students.”
