Views sought over proposed footpath closure
A Cramlington councillor is asking residents for their views on plans to close a public footpath that runs through the grounds of Cramlington Learning Village.
Cramlington Town Councillor and Northumberland County Councillor Mark Swinburn said “Cramlington Learning Village have submitted a proposal to Northumberland County Council regarding the closure of the Public Right of Way that currently runs through the school grounds linking the area from the Stonelaw Dale cycle path to Southfield Gardens/Barns Park estates.”
“If this is successful then the entire site will be fenced off with a secure perimeter fence to prevent any access.”
“I am asking Northumberland County Council for further information in relation to this proposal, in order to respond to residents’ queries. I will also be requesting a public consultation so that all residents around the site will receive information about this as presently the details are only given via notices pinned to posts around the site “
“Residents in my Village Ward are welcome to contact me if they have questions or concerns about the proposal. They can contact me on markswinburn67@gmail.com “
