Workshop taking shape at community allotment
A workshop constructed from wooden pallets is about to be erected at Cramlington Community Allotment thanks to a donation from the Port of Blyth, arranged through local MP Ian Levy.
Cramlington Town Council designated the allotment for community use and it is managed by Northern Butterflies.
When Ian Levy MP visited the site he heard about their plans which included creating a workshop and craft space. He then liaised with the Port of Blyth to arrange delivery of 30 pallets with more to follow if required.
Maggie Martin, Cramlington Town Council Community and Youth Manager said “It’s so exciting to see this project taking shape. The workshop will be a great asset to the site and building it from pallets is a great example of recycling too!”
MP Ian Levy added “I’m delighted that I was able to facilitate delivery of the pallets – this project is an asset to Cramlington and I look forward to seeing its progression.”
