Write on! New writing club for youngsters during Easter holidays
Cramlington Town Council is excited to announce they have funded a new Writing Club as part of their Easter holiday free activity provision.
The council has teamed up with North East charity ‘Bringing Words To Life’ who is running the club on April 4th, 5th and 6th between 1pm-4pm at Manor Warms, the community space in Manor Walks.
The Club is for youngsters in school years 5 to 8 who will learn how to get their stories published, interview people, create content and organise research.
Melanie Cornish-Fleet, CEO of Bringing Words to Life said: “I’m grateful to Cramlington Town Council for enabling me to offer the writing course. It is a great opportunity for any young person who enjoys writing, is nosy and wants to increase their writing skills – and importantly, it’s also fun!”
Councillor Helen Morris, Chair of the Town Council’s Community and Youth Committee said: “This is a further example of our investment in young people. During the school holidays we offer free activities and are looking for new schemes each year. This is our first Writing Club and I encourage families to take up this exciting opportunity.”
